Installed right inside the OR, cardiac cath lab, or other procedure room, the SmartCabinet combines LogiTag’s patent-protected RFID technology with point-of-use reporting and a simple user interface for real-time tracking and managing of stents, implants, and other high-value devices.

As soon as a device is removed from its shelves, SmartCabinet immediately records and tracks the item for automated inventory management that not only saves valuable time in the OR but greatly improves patient-device follow-up (for example, in the case of product recalls by the manufacturer).

Advanced cloud-based software gives the entire supply chain -- materials management, OR staff, vendors -- an accurate view of OR medical device inventory levels, consumption, and expiration dates.

RFID labels are placed on the item package or box, and the item’s barcode is scanned to “enroll” it into the system. Enrolled items are ready for placement in the Smart Cabinet (an RFID tag identifies the user and unlocks the cabinet doors). Items are placed on the shelves with the RFID tags facing the rear of the cabinet. The cabinet doors are closed and the items are ready for use.
